Manuel Lizé
date of birth : 13/11/1982 (Valence, department of the Drome)
being a jack of all trades, Even though I am currently just completing my masters in business management and administration ( ), I nevertheless have a varied work-related background. From the surf shop Quai 34, to the ASESSI (the association of sanitary and social education of Isere), via a period of work for the publishers, Niveales (Grands Reportage Magazine, trek magazine, windsurf etc), I am currently in charge of a project in the Chamber of industry and commerce of Grenoble. Similarly I have various sporting interests, I take part in several sports, at an amateur level, such as rock-climbing, trekking, snowboarding, judo and deep-sea diving.
My thirst for discovery and my constant will to work as close to the environment and nature as possible led me to combine my knowledge of project management with my taste for challenges. it may be true that I am more at ease when mountaineering than at sea, yet this project of discovering the world by sea, and doing my utmost to promote the environment, is one which I have developed over time.
I firmly believe that nothing is impossible and I intend to prove this. Whether planning one’s career, undertaking sporting challenges, or protecting the environment, when you want to you can. It was therefore natural for me to contribute to the creation of qovop and the project which ensued is in essence the extension of a lifestyle choice rather than a momentary interest

date of birth : 29/01/1983 (Luçon, department of Vendée) Graduated of a 2nd year in a Technological University degree in Management of companies, and then a 3rd year degree in Grenoble. After having spent a year at the university of glasgow (Scotland, UK) as part of the European inter-university partnership program.
Graduated in 2007 with a Master 2 in Economics and Busniess Management, currently in Germany for my job, financial analyst in Fressnapf group. I chose to jointly organise such a project to demonstrate that it is always possible to achieve your goals.
Being fairly sporty, i like taking on ever more challenges, for example when I climb the summits of the Iseroises Alps by bike. I also like travelling and discovering other exciting cultures, without wanting to imitate Christopher Columbus, I have a real desire to discover the world.
Being very aware of today’s ecological problems, manuel and I want to help the environment in order to make people more sensitive to environmental concerns, especially the future developments affecting seas and oceans and the conqequences for the inhabitants, whether they are fishermen, lighthouse keepers or sailors.
Our thirst for challenges, our taste for travelling and adventure , our wish to preserve the planet, and the desire to undertake an important and enterprising project therefore led us to form the association, with the goal of having fully organised the project, which is so important to us, before the expected departure date – the end of 2008.
Mickaël Lajeunesse
Date of birth : 15/01/1984, Paris Following my undergraduate studies in process engineering at Nantes University I studied for a masters in renewable energy and construction at Savoy Technolac (in Chambery). I am currently an engineer within the reseach office for the “new energy forms” firm in La Rochelle. This is a small scale business, in the process of expanding, which is involved in installing energy-producing systems which rely on renewable sources, notably solar, wind and geothermic. With my fondness for travel and adventure and my interest in environmental issues it is natural that I find very appealing the qoVop project begun by Manuel and Baptiste. Discovering the world, whilst also considering the future of the global environment and the impact of environmental change on the patterns of human existence, is something which I consider to be of great value and importance. In a world where environmental questions are of ever greater importance, it is necessary for every one of us to contribute a new perspective in order to enhance the debate surrounding these issues.
The physical and slightly crazy part of the project is equally attractive for me, as i am not from a seafaring background and consequently have very little experience of the sea. Currently my role in this project is not so much that of a member of the sailing team, but rather is one of involvment in the preparation and renovation of the boat. Therefore, at the moment, I am to provide logistical support, and only time will tell whether I actually join the sailing team in this great adventure. |
